If we re-zone the SAN fabric so that each host only has one path to the storage, then everything works fine, which makes me think it’s a config issue somwhere between the hardware storage or HBAQLogic driver or RDAC driver. Results 1 to 10 of Upvote if you found this answer helpful or interesting.

If all does not help collect the state of the driver with mppSupport and log a support call with your storage vendor. Posted December 8, I tested on XenServer 6. It prioritized the IO traffic so it should stay on the preferred path. Storwize v is supported on 6. Have you tried the linux multipath-tools?


Any other ideas or advice to help us move ahead? From what you say, ditching RDAC might be a better option. The big question is, will it work when you connect the v to the xenserver, and I think it will but I am not sure.


At the moment we have a small pool with 2 xenservers on 6. Conference call with Novell this morning, so something may come out of that. This is the accepted answer. I tried using the standard qlogic driver from RHEL5 and device-mapper-multipath.

When it’s come in? This has been working well for our environment for about 10 months now. I already checked the HCL. Multipath tools without rdac support is useless. Just thought I’d try on here to see if anyone has success with what we are trying to setup.
